Belmont Recruitment is currently seeking experienced Youth Offending Officers to join a local authority in Manchester on a contract basis.
Working to support young people, typically from the age of 10 to 18 who are involved in the criminal justice system or at risk of offending. They provide support, supervision, and interventions aimed at preventing reoffending and promoting positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
* carry out risk assessments and manage risk of reoffending
* prepare reports for the courts before sentencing
* provide support to young offenders to prevent reoffending
* make referrals to other agencies like housing, or drug and alcohol misuse services
* supervise young offenders on court orders, community sentences, and after release from secure institutions
* help young offenders into education, work or training
* encourage young people to take part in constructive activities
* visit young people in secure institutions
Key Details:
* Enhanced DBS required
* Hourly rate: £15-£17
* Working hours: 37.5 hrs per week
* Contract duration: Minimum of 3 months, with potential for extension.
