A local authority in North London is recruiting for a Sustainable Housing Support Worker to join our Street Homelessness Accommodation Team in Enfield. You will provide housing support services across three distinct supported housing projects: Housing First, Dispersed Self-Contained Flats, and Shared Accommodation. If you are passionate about helping vulnerable people live independent and fulfilling lives, this role is for you.
The Role
As a Sustainable Housing Support Worker, you will be a key part of our Street Homelessness Accommodation Team, delivering vital support to individuals with multiple and complex needs. Your tasks and responsibilities will include:
Delivering proactive support to applicants to help them access and maintain accommodation.
Managing a caseload and ensuring all support work complies with legislation, safeguarding policies, and procedures.
Collaborating with internal and external partners to improve outcomes for applicants.
Ensuring all service user documentation is up-to-date and accurately entered into various IT systems.
Contributing to efficient service delivery both as an individual and as part of a team, in accordance with local policies, procedures, and legislation.
The Candidate
The ideal candidate for this Sustainable Housing Support Worker role will be ambitious, proactive, and ready for a new challenge.
You must possess strong communication and creative problem-solving skills, along with the drive and passion to support vulnerable individuals. Additionally, you will need:
A good knowledge of welfare, housing, and homelessness practice.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to work outside of office hours on occasion.
Experience in managing a caseload and working within safeguarding policies and procedures.
The Contract
Working Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
Contract Length: 24th June 2024 to 15th September 2024
