Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for two experienced Social Work Assistants to work with a Nottinghamshire based Local Authority on a temporary basis. There is 1x full time role and 1x part time role available.
Main Duties:
* To deliver structured family and parenting interventions to children, young people, parents, carers and families in line with service guidance.
* To keep timely and accurate records of work, including running records and the entry of data as specified.
* To communicate effectively with allocated lead professionals.
* To attend team meetings including multi agency meetings and whole service events.
* To work with children, young people and families in settings including the family home, and to transport them when required with due regard to health and safety guidance.
* To deliver services within the Service’s scheme of delegation for safeguarding children and local safeguarding children board policies.
* To attend court hearings and participate in meetings, case conferences, reviews, planning meetings and other forums as required and appropriate.
* To produce short, formal reports to explain outcomes of interventions when required.
Essential Criteria:
* 5 GCSEs graded A*- C (including English) or equivalent.
* An understanding of child development, effective parenting and attachment theory.
* Full UK driver’s licence
* Information technology skills including use of databases and word processing.
* Undertake any necessary administrative duties.
* Takes an active role in managing risk, health and safety and safeguarding issues
* A minimum of two years’ experience of working with children, young people and their families.
* Experience of managing challenging situations.
