Residential Youth Support Worker
Duration: Initially 6 months
Hours: 37 hours per week (rota basis)
Rate: £17 umbrella an hour
East Sussex County Council are looking for a Residential Youth Support Worker to join their team based in Eastbourne. The Children’s Homes are respite and residential that provide high quality care to children and young people aged 7-19 years
As a Residential Youth Support Worker you will:
Provide effective day to day care and support in all aspects of daily living to the resident children
Keep accurate records of daily events and incidents
Contribute to the therapeutically informed care planning and risk management
Liaise with external professionals
Maintain and support effective relationships with families
Participate in a working rota designed to meet the needs of the service and contribute to positive working relationships
Undertake sleeping-in duties on a rota basis
Requirements
QCF Level 2 in English or ability to pass assessment at interview
QCF Level 2 in Maths or ability to pass a basic maths assessment at interview
Interest in child development and willingness to learn
Experience of working with children and young people
Willingness to travel to children’s homes other than designated work base
