I am currently representing Islington Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 3-6 months with a view to be extended or offered a permanent position for the right candidate at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience
We are looking for a Learning Officer this role will be: N1 1XR (28 HOURS PER WEEK)
The right candidate will:
The main role of the Heritage Learning Officer is to lead on the continued development and implementation of a sustainable programme of public engagement by:
1. Developing the formal and informal learning programme
* Manage the development of the museum’s schools resources
* Devise and develop special projects for target audiences
1. Delivering the public engagement programme
* Manage and deliver the learning programme
* Manage external learning specialists
* Manage the engagement evaluation process and reporting
1. Managing the stakeholder input
* Work in partnership to develop community engagement
* Manage community stakeholder input
* Collaborate with cultural organisations in Islington to deliver partnerships
We require the following:
* Experience of working in a heritage site, museum or similar cultural environment
* Experience of designing and delivering learning programmes that meet the identified needs of a target audience, such as families, schools, people facing discrimination or social exclusion
* Knowledge of, and commitment to, the educational and wellbeing role of heritage sites and parks, and the awareness of current thinking around this
