We are looking for a dedicated Housing Support Worker to join a Housing Association based in Bethnal Green. This service provides accommodation and support to adults suffering from homelessness. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality support. This role is permanent and joining the night shift team.
THE ROLE
As a Housing Support Worker, you will be responsible for supporting residents and ensuring their safety and wellbeing overnight. Key responsibilities include:
Working alongside the team to create a safe, welcoming environment for residents
Building supportive relationships with residents
Providing informal support, monitoring vulnerable residents’ welfare, and reporting concerns
Responding to emergencies and liaising with on-call managers and emergency services as needed
Ensuring communal areas are safe, secure, and clean throughout the night
Conducting routine patrols and health and safety checks
Managing overnight referrals and maintaining accurate records of incidentsTHE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience working with homeless individuals, they will possess:
Experience responding calmly to challenging behaviour
Understanding of adult safeguarding procedures
Ability to work within a team and independently, using initiative
Basic literacy and report-writing skills
Understanding of health and safety, particularly lone working proceduresTHE CONTRACT
Permanent post.
Shifts are 4 nights on, 4 nights off ongoing.
The salary is £27,352 per annum.
