The Role Summary
Our client is looking for a proactive Housing Officer to join their operational team initially on a temporary contract. Reporting to the Property Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring our properties are well-managed, safe, and welcoming environments for all residents. You will support the Property Manager across a wide range of duties, ensuring that high standards are consistently met
Your key duties within the role will include:
Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues and stakeholders, ensuring a professional image is presented at all times.
Provide outstanding customer service, ensuring that residents receive the highest standards of care and that any complaints or incidents are managed according to our procedures.
Support the Property Manager in managing and maintaining the property, including supervising contractors, conducting building checks, and ensuring that all maintenance work meets our standards.
Assist in the administration and control tasks, including providing duty reception cover, managing cash transactions, and processing internal and external correspondence.
Provide executive support, including assisting with the preparation of Board documents and acting as the first point of contact for visitors.
Ensure full compliance with all health and safety policies, reporting any hazards and seeking further guidance when necessary.
Deputise for the Property Manager during periods of absence, ensuring that all responsibilities are managed effectively.Key requirements:
Knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework of social housing and property / tenancy management, together with experience of delivering services that meet these requirements.
Experience of supported housing would be useful but is not essential.
Experience of working in General Needs housing / tenancy management, combined with a desire and aptitude for helping people to maintain independence.
An understanding of some of the issues and barriers faced by tenants / household members who have learning disabilities, mental health needs and / or physical and sensory impairments.
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills.
Experience of working with customers in 1-1 situations.
Good numeracy and literary skills appropriate to the requirements of the job role.
