Contract type: Initial Fixed-Term Contract (6 months)
Hours of work: 40 hours p/w (Mon – Friday, 8:30am – 5pm)
Are you a proactive professional with a passion for creating safe and compliant workplaces? We are seeking a dedicated Health & Safety Officer to join our dynamic clients team in Braintree. In this crucial role, you will be the driving force behind their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, and compliance.
As the Health & Safety Officer, you will be responsible for conducting regular inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing and implementing robust health and safety policies and procedures, ensuring the organisation remains compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive inspections and risk assessments across work areas.
Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures.
Plan and deliver engaging safety training programs for employees and managers.
Investigate accidents and incidents, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date health and safety documentation.
Monitor compliance with health and safety laws and regulations.
Collaborate with Human Resources to manage workplace injuries and illnesses.
Stay informed about changes in health and safety legislation.
Oversee fire safety measures and serve as the focal point for external and internal audits. To excel in this role, you’ll ideally have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a health and safety role, along with a NEBOSH qualification in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field. Additionally, you should have a strong understanding of national health and safety regulations, coupled with exceptional communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
In return for your dedication, recieve a competitive salary range of £37,000.00 – £43,000.00 per annum, depending on your experience. A comprehensive benefits package which includes 25 days of annual leave
