Children’s Residential Practitioner
Duration: Initially 3 months
Hours: 37 hours per week
Rate: £20 umbrella an hour (£18 PAYE an hour)
Southampton City Council are looking for a Children’s Residential Practitioner to join one of their Children’s Homes.
Responsibilities:
Contribute toward the development and adherence to risk assessment and care plans for children in the home
Develop and deliver activities for children including fun, developmental and educational experiences to support them to thrive
Use IT recording systems to record key information relevant to the lives and experiences of children in the home
Provide a safe, clean, warm environment for children including domestic tasks such as cleaning and cooking
Engage in supervision, reflection and training to demonstrate consistent self-development and improvement of both self and the wider serviceRequirements:
Functional Skills in English and Maths at Level 2 or equivalent
Previous experience of working with children and young people who have experienced trauma
Knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance and practices and their implications
