We are seeking a dedicated and motivated experienced Youth Justice Officer to join our dynamic Youth Service team in Luton. In this vital role, you will work directly with children and young people, particularly those facing complex challenges, to help prevent offending, re-offending, and reduce the risk of exploitation or harm.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct thorough assessments of children and young people subject to early intervention, prevention, and youth justice services.
Develop, coordinate, implement, monitor, and review intervention plans tailored to the needs of young people and their families.
Manage a caseload, including challenging and complex cases, ensuring the provision of appropriate support and interventions.
Represent the service in court, undertaking office, court, and bail duties, preparing reports for criminal courts, and ensuring compliance with statutory and non-statutory interventions.
Collaborate with multi-agency teams to ensure the safeguarding of young people and promote positive outcomes.
Regularly monitor and review interventions to ensure effectiveness and adapt plans as needed to support the individual’s progress.
Key Requirements:
Experience working with children, young people, and their families, particularly within early intervention or youth justice settings.
Strong understanding of youth justice, criminal exploitation, and safeguarding practices.
Ability to handle complex cases and engage effectively with vulnerable young people and their families.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with both young people and partner agencies.
Strong organizational skills to manage casework and administrative duties efficiently.
