Description
Lancashire County Council is seeking a dedicated and experienced Qualified Social Worker (QSW) to join our Children with Disabilities team in East Lancashire. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people with disabilities. Responsibilities
Provide high-quality social work services to children with disabilities and their families, ensuring that their needs are met and that they are supported to achieve positive outcomes.
Manage a manageable caseload, typically between 15 and 22 cases, depending on the specific function within the team.
Work cooperatively with other professionals and agencies to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people.
Participate in the development and implementation of care plans, ensuring that the needs of the child are central to all planning and decision-making.
Embrace and apply strength-based approaches in all aspects of your work, contributing to the continued development and innovation within Lancashire County Council’s Children’s Services.
Maintain accurate and timely records in line with departmental policies and procedures.
Utilise flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home, while participating in team meetings and cooperative opportunities as needed.
Adhere to all relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards in social work practice.
Requirements
Must hold a relevant social work degree qualification.
A minimum of 12 months of experience working with children and young people, preferably within the field of disabilities.
Enhanced DBS.
Access to own car and full UK driving license.
Strong understanding of the challenges faced by children with disabilities and their families, with the ability to provide empathetic and effective support.
