Service Manager

3 month contract
Job Purpose
Responsible for the operational management of a service or group of services within a supported housing and/or retirement living setting. Effectively manage a team to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service, ensuring delivery of legislative and contractual performance requirements. Service Manager required to cover role whilst we recruit the permanent position.
Service manager accountabilities
Manage the services to provide a high-quality, customer-focused service.
Provide motivational leadership, mentoring, and coaching to the team, ensuring clarity of direction, effective communication, and development of personal potential.
Manage team performance to deliver outstanding service by reviewing work outputs, appraising individual performance, and setting improvement targets.
Ensure that the service meets its internal performance targets and any contract-specific targets.
Maintain appropriate recording systems to monitor and report on service performance and compliance. Provide accurate reports to line managers as required, to deadline.
Participate in the setting and management of service budgets.
Monitor spend and report budget variances to the Area Manager.
Participate in the out-of-hours management arrangements for the area/region.Service manager Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Experience of working within a housing and/or support environment
Experience of working with vulnerable customers
Good communication and conflict resolution skills
Good understanding and experience of IT systems (Microsoft Office and databases)Service manager Qualifications and Experience.
Previous experience in a Service manager role.
Enhanced DBS certification.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and engage in lone working situations.The Package
This is a temporary, Service manager role,40 hours per week for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
