THE ROLE
As a Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing structured support and assistance to clients in supported schemes. This role will be more of a project assistant level but will paid at the support worker level.
Support Worker main responsibilities will include:
Delivering individualized, positive outcome-focused support packages.
Promoting empowerment and independence among clients.
Working proactively with clients to achieve their personalized support outcomes.
Assisting clients with day-to-day tenancy issues, rent payments, and benefit claims.
Undertaking referrals and assessments to identify suitable housing solutions.
Ensuring clients have access to relevant external support services.
Setting and agreeing goals and actions with clients.
You will be requested to travel to dispersed properties when needed to investigate ASB issues. (the visits will be in pairs)
THE CANDIDATE
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, particularly in housing or social care settings.
Has experience working with vulnerable client groups.
Can deliver structured support in either housing or social care.
Demonstrates knowledge of best practices in crisis intervention and planned support.
Is skilled in undertaking referrals and client assessments.
Understands the importance of promoting empowerment and independence among clients.
Is committed to best practice in the social housing field.
Can work effectively as part of a team to achieve positive client outcomes.
Is organized, with good time management skills.
Can maintain professional and accurate records.
Has a proactive and client-focused approach.
Qualifications and Experience:
Previous experience in a housing support role.
Valid driver’s license, own vehicle, and business insurance.
Enhanced DBS certification.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
The Package
This is a temporary, Housing Support worker role,35 hours per week for an initial 3 months, covering the recruitment process for a permanent team member, meaning the role could be extended, or become permanent.
