We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Housing Officer to join a local authority based in Hammersmith. You will be responsible for delivering a high-quality tenancy and leasehold management service to general needs and sheltered residents. Your role will focus on ensuring residents maintain sustainable tenancies, comply with tenancy terms, and actively engage in community decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide proactive and customer-focused tenancy and neighbourhood management services.
Ensure compliance with tenancy and lease terms, addressing any breaches effectively.
Build strong relationships with residents to enhance satisfaction and quality of life.
Support vulnerable residents by linking them to necessary services and resources.
Lead tenancy audits to maintain accurate business intelligence.
Collaborate with the voids team to minimize rent loss and ensure efficient re-letting processes.
Deliver comprehensive housing advice and support to residents, promoting tenancy sustainability.
Manage tenancy change applications and lead investigations into illegal occupancy.
Address anti-social behaviour and support victims of domestic violence.
Respond to emergencies on estates, providing on-site support and reassurance to residents.
Deputise for the housing manager and supervise housing support officers as needed.Requirements:
Up-to-date knowledge of housing and leasehold legislation and case law.
Strong understanding of fire safety issues and ability to implement recommendations.
Experience in managing tenancy audits, void processes, and providing housing advice.
Ability to work effectively with internal teams, external contractors, and partner agencies.
Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and negotiation skills.
High degree of emotional intelligence and ability to build effective relationships.
